Friendships-Bethany

I have a group of friends that I have known since high school. They are my best friends!! The next series of Blogs is going to be all about them, because to really know me you have to know them. I am going to go in alphabetical order so no one gets their feelings hurt :)

Bethany-

We actually have a pretty funny first time meeting story and then a great becoming friends story. Bethany moved to Spokane with her parents from Utah our freshman year of high school and we were in the same ward at church but we didn't know each other very well. Amanda Gillespie (another friend) and I were going to go shopping one Saturday afternooon when my mom asked if we wouldn't mind asking the new girl from our ward (Bethany) to go with us. Of course we said sure and went to pick her up. We picked her up, yes it was aukward for all of us and went to the mall. It was getting close to summer so we wanted to find some swimsuits to wear. We all found ones we liked and went to the dressing room. Amanda and I decided we would just share a dressing room (I really don't know why) and asked Bethany if she wanted to share with us (hahahaha). Bethany said no that's ok I will go in a different one. Later I found out that she was thinking that we were very weird and she probably would never hang out with us again. Little did she know we would become best friends and share dressing rooms all the time ;)

We didn't hang out much after the dressing room incident until girls camp that summer. It was our 4th year so we got to go on a canoe trip. We were all very excited!! The rules were two girls to one YCL in a canoe (or something like that). Amanda and I go our canoe and we were ready to go, but then we saw Bethany standing by the YCL's and no one to go with. So Amanda and I decided to plead with the YCL's to let her in our canoe without a YCL. We told them that we knew how to use a canoe and we would behave ourselves (yeah right). But they believed us and Bethany rode with us. That was one of the best summers of my life. I met my best friend for the second time. We were perfect for each other, crazy, funny, cooky... It's funny because she describes it as knowing that she met her best friend that summer too. Bethany and her parents ended up moving from their apartment to a house around the block from me and we spent pretty much everyday hanging out the rest of that summer. Eventually we lived together after high school and then she moved away from me to Seattle :( It's ok though because now like we've always wanted (not really but we thought it would be cool) we are both pregnant!!

I love you Beffy!

I love you too Bridgey! Every kid should grow living only a block away from their best friend. Then they can talk on the phone sitting on their roofs and see each other.
